Dr. Tiballi originally started his working career following his training in HVAC at a local technical college, he had a 10-year career in plumbing and heating until he decided to take the next step in his career following a one-year period of unemployment and began a trek through college studying chemistry, theology and biology at Franciscan University in Steubenville OH and then attending medical school in New York City during the AIDS epidemic. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University, Christiana DE, and A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington DE. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor where he published numerous research papers based on his research with anti-fungal agents. He continues to be the most productive publishing fellow in the history of the division. Dr. Tiballi returned to the University of Michigan business school receiving an MBA in 2015. Dr. Tiballi studied bioethics at the University of Mary in Bismarck ND.

He has practiced Adult and Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the northwest suburbs of Chicagoland since 1995. He enjoys woodworking, mechanical and electrical work, golfing, and fine dining with his beautiful wife Tamaki. He enjoys working on his overgrown Christmas tree farm in Apple River, IL. He has one daughter Francesca who lives and works in Manhattan. Tamaki and Dr. Tiballi have one dog and one rabbit who live on different floors.  He is a frequent contributor to local and national media on topics related to infections and their care. Areas of special interest include Lyme Disease, fungal infections, diseases of travelers, tick-borne illnesses, mycobacterial illnesses, and herpes viral infections (CMV, EBV, HHV6, etc).

Dr. Tiballi strives to provide the best care available anywhere and provides that care with empathy and compassion, anticipating the needs of the patient. He cares for patients the way he would hope his own family members would be cared for.
