Dr. Elise McPherson recently moved to the Dubuque area after completing her internal medicine residency at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Sterling, Illinois, receiving her bachelor's degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rocky Vista University in Parker, Colorado.
She is drawn to internal medicine by the challenges of addressing complex health histories, chronic illnesses, preventative medicine, and any other health-related challenges that life may bring. Depending on their medical needs, a patient's healthcare team can include numerous specialists, therapists, and other providers. Dr. McPherson believes that a strong partnership between the patient and their primary care provider lays the foundation for that team to be successful in achieving each individual's health and wellness goals.
Dr. McPherson looks forward to building these lasting relationships with her patients. She welcomes adults of all ages and is dedicated to providing individualized and compassionate healthcare to each person regardless of background, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Outside of work, Dr. McPherson enjoys spending time with her husband, getting to know Dubuque, and especially trying out new restaurants. They also enjoy cooking together at home and watching movies with their cat, Arya.
