Invest in your healthcare and sign up for portal access at your next appointment. Patient Portal is a secure online website that allows you to view your medical record online, message your doctor, view upcoming appointments, and more.

How to sign up

To protect your personal health information we require that you sign up in person or by phone. Ask your receptionist when you are checking in to sign up or call the patient portal support line (563) 589-4080. You will need to provide them with an active email address at the time of sign up.

What can I do on the portal?

The patient portal is a secure way for you to access your health information online. It is a great way for you to actively participate in your medical care. You can:

  • Icon of person with pencil. Manage your and your child's health information online. Currently, ages 12-17 are not eligible for portal access.
  • Icon of person with message bubble. Send a message to your doctor.
  • Calendar outline with clock overtop. View upcoming appointments & your previous appointment summaries.
  • Paper with magnifier over it. Review lab & radiology results.

Patient Portal Frequently Asked Questions

Can I request prescription refills?

No. For all prescription refill requests contact your pharmacy. The portal does have a list of your current medications for reference.

Can multiple family members use the same email?

Yes, you can sign up with the same email. Each family member will have their own username and password to log into their own personal account. If you are using a shared e-mail account and do not receive an e-mail containing your username and password, please contact our Patient Portal Support Line (563) 589-4080

Will only my doctor see my message or the information submitted?

No, your messages are reviewed by staff members as well, to ensure your message is answered in a timely manner and by the appropriate department. If your doctor is out of the office messages are forwarded to someone other than your doctor including but not limited to; a nurse, receptionist, or another doctor.

How secure is my medical information?

Your personal health information included in your portal account is a secure snapshot of your medical record. We have taken all reasonable efforts to maintain the security of your medical information.

I think my patient portal account has been compromised (i.e. someone else has accessed my account). What should I do?

Call Grand River Medical Group Patient Portal Support Line immediately at (563) 589-4080 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday – Friday excluding Holidays. We will disable your portal account. If you would like to continue to use the portal, please stop in the office and ask one of our receptionists to assist you with reactivating your account. You will get a new user name and password.

What do I do when I am locked out of my patient portal account?

To unlock your account call Grand River Medical Group Patient Portal Support Line at (563) 589-4080, Option 1, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday excluding Holidays. A staff member will assist you with unlocking your account. After talking with the staff member an email will be sent to you containing steps to reset your password.
